IMBŌDHI emerged from a desire to practice and promote a fully embodied life: a life we can move freely through. We imagine a world where people prioritize finding integrity and peace within themselves before taking action. We define the embodied life as the journey of feeling completely at home in one’s own body; to experience its innate fluidity, strength, freedom and endless potential. Our bodysuits were created to support you in doing just that—living embodied.
100% Made in California
Our fabric is knitted in LA and cut and sewn into bodysuits in SF. Having our bodysuits 100% made in California supports local communities and economies and the environment; less shipping of materials (via driving and airmail) means less fossil fuel emissions. And using high-quality fabric will greatly extend the lifespan of the bodysuit.
Making our bodysuits all in the same geographical area makes it all that much better for the world, the planet, for you.
Although the IMBŌDHI bodysuit was envisioned by the co-founders, it came into existence through the support and encouragement of the existing communities of Acroyogis, Dancers, and circus artists. These communities are fertile grounds to share tools that allow us to dive deeper into the possibilities of the human experience. The IMBŌDHI bodysuit is a physical representation of the underlying ethos of these communities: to be able to freely explore the potentials of our bodies.
A portion of our proceeds go to the Mind Body Awareness Project (MBA), an Oakland-based 501(c)(3) organization that teaches mindfulness, emotional intelligence and mental health skills and techniques to high-risk and incarcerated youth in public schools, juvenile justice centers and the community at-large. Their mission is to help youth transform harmful behavior and live meaningful lives through mindfulness and emotional awareness.
